Banu Abdolqais is considered as an Arabic tribe in the north of peninsula who were resident in old Bahrain including: Kuwait, Ehsa’, Qatar, the islands of current Bahrain since centuries before Islam. Following the establishment of Kufah, a group of this tribe migrated to this city and they were considered the initiator of some activities and changes regarding the cultural - social issues of Kufah in time of Shiite Imams PBUT.
Referring to the background of their tendency towards Islam and Shiism as well as their affection and regards towards the prophet’s household, this writing has reported their presence in Kufah through the descriptive-analytical method and has taken advantage of Shiite sources to identify their cultural-social role. In this regard, the present article has endeavored to identify fifty characters of this household in Kufah and it has introduced them in field of: tradition, jurisprudence, theology and poem, their position among Quran-reciters, instructors of Holy Quran and preachers, their governmental position and finally, it has initiated Abdolqais’ mosquesincluding: Sahleh mosque, Sa’saeh Ibn e- souhan mosque, Zeid Ibn e- souhan mosque attributed to this tribe.
