Culture can be considered the most fundamental foundation for the transformation of society, and the prerequisite for changing any society lies in altering its cultural layers. On the other hand, an examination of the history of the Prophetic era reveals a profound social transformation during the time of the Messenger of God (PBUH).
This study is based on the hypothesis that social change occurs through the transformation of cultural layers, as demonstrated by the Messenger of God (PBUH). It examines, categorizes, and analyzes the process of societal evolution from ‘Jahili’ (pre-Islamic ignorance) to Islamic society during the Prophetic era. Using a documentary-analytical research method, the study investigates the changes in two key cultural layers under the Prophet’s leadership: the system of values and the framework of beliefs.
The findings indicate that the Messenger of God (PBUH) achieved a profound cultural transformation in ‘Jahili’ Arab society by:
- Theoretical components: Introducing core beliefs such as *Tawhid* (monotheism) and *Ma’ad* (resurrection), along with Quranic teachings.
- Practical components: Promoting unity, tolerance, equality, and pragmatism in social conduct.
