The success of any system or organization depends on the fact that, after identifying the strengths and weaknesses (internal factors) and opportunities and threats (external factors), it can compensate for its weaknesses by relying on its strengths and using opportunities and avoid threats. Reduce or turn them into opportunities. As a political-religious system, Shiism has faced various challenges in the first centuries of Hijri and especially in the Umayyad period. However, not only has it continued its existence throughout history, but its growth has been increased day by day in various dimensions. This article seeks to answer the question, what strategies did Shiism adopt to overcome the most important political challenges during the Umayyad period? Identifying these strategies can help to empower the Shia communities in the present era and improve some existing strategies in the field of resistance. The desired strategies have been introduced based on the learning strategy school and using the SWOT analytical model. The most important challenges facing Shiism in the Umayyad period are suppression and killing, division among Shiites and the reduction of Shiite manageability. The most important strategies that were adopted in facing these challenges are taqiyyah, information protection, giving identity to Imamiyya Shiites, social convergence - political divergence.
