Abstract

After the death of Aaron, the fifth Abbasid caliph, the traditional power structure of the Abbasid dynasty
After the death of Aaron, the fifth Abbasid caliph, the traditional power structure of the Abbasid dynasty strongly resisted and sabotaged the power-sharing project, which eventually led to a confrontation between the two brothers, the removal of Amin and the caliphate of Ma'mun. Ma'mun's fledgling government, under the influence of structural and historical problems of the institution of power and the problems after the bloody removal of Amin Khalifa, was forced to dismantle and change the current structure of power to repair the rupture. The present study intends to explain the backgrounds and causes of crises by descriptive-analytical method and using first-hand historical sources. By studying that historical period leading to the guardianship of Imam Reza (AS), this study also seeks to confirm that Ma'mun's attempt to establish the third side of power and involve the Alawites in construction of the government was a political tactic to solve the crises and various challenges of the government.
