Abstract:
The changes in societies are directly related to the way of governance and management. In 23 AH, Uthman bin Affan assumed the caliphate and leadership of the Islamic society. The difference in his leadership style with the previous caliphs, especially the era of the Messenger of God9, led to the beginning of protests against the ruling government. . And finally, the year 35 AH ended with the rebellion and assassination of the Caliph. The question that arises is why, despite the model of efficient management and leadership in the prophetic period, the rule of the third caliph faced many challenges?
The researches carried out in this regard have dealt with the causes that are the result of ineffective leadership and management style, therefore, in this research, it has been tried with the historical-analytical method and with the help of management science in the way of using the resources of leadership power. legal power, power of authority, power of punishment and encouragement, power of expertise) in the leadership style to analyze the events, the studies carried out show the lack of proper use of power sources, especially the power of authority (personality) and the power of authority. The caliph faced a decrease in trust and influence, and in addition to the rebellion and murder of the third caliph, the Islamic society faced new developments.
