A Critical Examination of the Viewpoints concerning the Death of Hazrat Masoumeh (PBUH)

Abstract

Some events, such as the time of birth or departure of religious nobless and the way they lived and died, lack sufficient accuracy in the historical sources. It is often seen that  several dates are mentioned for the same incident, or the how of death, has sometimes been interpreted as departure and sometime as martyrdom. Achieving a clear and more acceptable result in such cases is important because these events have social and ritual consequences. Relying on the historical-analytical method of research and primary library sources, a critical review of contemporary writings regarding the departure of Hazrat Masoumeh (PBUH) has been done in this research. The findings of the research clarify that the documentation of the claims of contemporary writers regarding the how of that holiness' departure are not of the necessary credibility.

Abstract [العربیة]

إنّ بعض الأحداث المرتبطة بحیاة الشخصیات الدینیة المهمة، کتاریخ الولادة و الوفاة أو طریقة الحیاة والارتحال عن هذه الدنیا، تفتقد للدقة الکافیة فی المصادر التاریخیة. فنجد مثلاً بعض الحوادث التی تم ذکر عدّة تواریخ لها، أو مثلاً فیما یتعلق بارتحال شخصیة معینة یتم أحیاناً ذکر تعبیر وفاة وفی بعض الأحیان تعبیر استشهاد. ومحاولة التوصل إلى نتیجة واضحة و أکثر قبول فی مثل هذه الحالات، تعتبر أمراً مهماً و ضروریاً لما لهذه الحوادث من أهمیة اجتماعیة و دینیة. تتطرق هذه المقالة إلى مراجعة نقدیة و تحلیل للآثار و الکتابات المعاصرة التی تتحدث حول ارتحال السیدة فاطمة المعصومة، و ذلک من خلال الاستناد إلى المنهج التاریخی التحلیلی، و الاستعانة بمصادر المکتبات.






تشیر نتائج هذا البحث إلى أنّ وثائق ادعاءات الکتّاب المعاصرین فیما یتعلق بکیفیة ارتحال هذه المرأة العظیمة هی لیس بقدر من المصداقیة اللازمة.
