Abstract
In Safavid era, the local historiography in Gilan highly succeeded due to the existence of historians, Ali Lahiji and Abd al- Fattah Foomani. The findings of this research clarify that, despite some similarities, Lahiji was under the influence of Kiya governors and their courtiers while Foomani was affected by the events of Gilan and consequently was influenced by the individuals such as Behzadbeig, the secretary of the first king of Abbasids, Amireh Dabaj and Ishaq Foomani in order to restore the welfare and richness of Gilan. Moreover, Foomani unlike Lahiji does not take advantage of royal viewpoints for the legitimacy of any special governor.
