A social outcome of the rise of Islam was the appearance of a social class called "Sadat" (descendants of Prophet Muhammad's clan, Bani-Hashim) in the Muslim community.
With the expansion of Islam into other territories, the Sadat spread east and west to the outer-most borders of the Muslim World being considered a respectable and influential group in every community they lived in.
Iran was among the lands wherein the Sadat excerised great influence and achieved prominent social position constantly adding to their good fame and esteem. Nonetheless, the Sadat's social prominence was naturally affected by the changing political, social, economic, and religious conditions of different periods in the history of Iran.
