The aim of this paper is to study three aspects of the Egyptian historiography movement in the 19th century. At frst, the continuous stages of this movement will be followed up and its different approaches are pointed out. Then, a clear picture of the various topics that interested the Egyptian historians in this century will be presented as well as the cultural background that influenced their research method. Finally, the goals of this movement and its effects on the Egyptian society are dealt with.
