Swearing and cursing is one of the speech methods that exist in different societies. Cursing has been condemned in Islam, but cursing in all kinds; Because there is a curse on a thief, a drunkard, or a tyrant on the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.) and... Regarding the permissibility of cursing by name and sign, there have been different views among Muslim thinkers from the past until today. Since the beginning of Islam, there have been rulers and extremist groups who have beaten the drum of blasphemy and cursing with names and symbols, and it is unfortunate that they tried to turn this behavior into a general culture. The current research, using descriptive and analytical methods, aims to find the connection between the current extremism in the Islamic world and extremism in the history of Muslim nations. It seems that cursing in the contemporary Islamic world has a historical link with the legacy of Muslim rulers and extremists in the previous centuries. In order to avoid the harm of this behavior, its historical roots should be explored in order to find a sustainable way to treat this abnormality.
