Abstract

This article compares the political and military approaches of The Saljuqids of Iran and The Fatemid of Egypt in the manner of handing over The Eqta to the military and court officials. Because of the lack of liquidity in paying the salaries of their employees to they gave them The Eqta. In this regard, the question arises that what were the most important aspects of the similarities and differences between The Eqta Alesteghlal and The Eqta military during The Saljuqids rule and The Fatemid caliphate? The resulting hypothesis is that the vastness of the lands under domination caused The Saljuqids and Fatemid rulers to cede many lands to their military commanders, which could be a similarity between the Land ownership system based on the above The Eqta. But the most important difference in their performance is that The Saljuqids rulers granted The Eqta Alesteghlal only to the military commanders, But The Fatemid caliphs, along with the militaries, also they benefited the bureaucrats from this type of The Eqta. This article examines the dimensions and angles of the subject using a historical comparison method based on description and analysis. Findings show; The Saljuqids and The Fatemid, thinking of expanding their territory, ceded lands to increase the motivation and sheer obedience of the commanders. But over time, such an approach led to the authority of military rulers and the decline of these governments, and The Fatemid, contrary to The Saljuqids, exchanged property according to the ruins and complaints of The Emirs.
