An Investigation on the First Residence of Muslim ibn e- Aqil in Kufa

Abstract

The Awareness on the events occurred in time of Moslem Ibn e- Aqil as Imam Hossein’s ambassador in Kufa is considered an important issue in regard with appreciating the reason of not accompanying Kufi people with Imam Hossein (PBUH). The residing of Muslim in Mokhtar e- Thaqafi’s house is an ambiguous issue in spite of its great reputation and reactions to it in various sources. Relying on deductive method and revisiting the historical data of ancient sources, the present article has identified four reports on the residence of Muslim in Mokhtar’, Hani ibn e- Orveh’, Sharik ibn e- Owr’, Moslem ibn e- Owesajeh’s house, and finally it has validated them based on evaluating the amount of their agreement with the other historical data as well as the atmosphere of Kufa city.
The findings of this research illustrate that the residence of Muslim ibn e- Aqil in Moslem ibn e- Owsajeh’s house is more acceptable regardless of famed opinions

دراسة فی أول مکان مسلم بن عقیل للإقامة فی کوفة

إن الإلمام بالأحداث التی حدثت بالکوفة عند حضور مسلم بن عقیل فیها باعتباره رسولا للإمام و ممثله؛ لها دور بارز و مهم فی الکشف عن عدم مسایرةأهل الکوفة للإمام الحسین علیه السلام. علی الرغم من تداول موضوع إقامة مسلم بن عقیل فی منزل المختار الثقفی بکثرة و فی العدید من المصادر و الاشتهار الذی تحظی به هذه الروایة إلا أن ذلک یکتنفه الکثیر من الغموض.
إن هذه الدراسة و استنادا إلی المنهج الاستقرائی و إعادة القراءة فی المعطیات التأریخیة القدیمة؛ قامت برصد الروایات الأربعة عن إقامة مسلم فی الکوفة(إقامته فی منزل المختار، هانی بن عروة، شریک بن الأعور و مسلم بن عوسجة) مع اهتمامها بالتدقیق فی مدی مصداقیة تلک الروایات و توافقها و المعلومات التأریخیة و انسجامها مع أجواء الکوفة ونسیجها آنذاک حیث أفادت الدراسة، بأن إقامته
فی منزل مسلم بن عوسجة رغم القول المشهور والسائد هو الأکثر صوابا و الأقرب إلی الحقیقة التأریخیة.
