The Narrations of Tragic Event of Ashura in Al- Akhbar al- Theval and Criterion of Criticism

Abstract

The Reflection of martyrdom of Hussain or Maqtal al- Hussain in Al- Akhbar al- Theval has some similarities with reports of Ashura event in Tabari history; however, it has some differences with it and other martyrdoms. In this regard, it is necessary to investigate this issue. This martyrdom in which some narrations are found about tragic event of Ashura is not in agreement with the definite events and historical reports in some cases. In other cases, it is observed some vulnerable reports about the status of infallible Imam and his household family and this matter has been a basis for the speech between the Shiite and Sunnite scholars in the later centuries. In this article, it is tried to study the early reports in this book after the evaluation of the character of the author and some explanations about his book by taking advantage of the library research method as well as the analytical-critical approach

رغم التشابه الموجود بین ما جاء فی کتاب الأخبار الطوال وتأریخ الطبری من اخبارحول مقتل الحسین(ع) فی یوم عاشوراء هناک وجوه تفاوت بین الأخبار الطوال و بین سائر المقاتل مما یجعل من الضروری مراجعة هذا الکتاب و دراسته وفضلا من الاخبار التی یتفرد بها هذا الکتاب فإنه یشمل تقاریر تعارض فی بعض الحالات مع الأحداث القطعیة والتقاریر التاریخیة المسلمة عند الجمیع، و کما أن فیه تقاریرَ قد تمس بکرامة الإمام (ع) و عائلته، مما أثار نقاش علماء الشیعة أو السنة حوله فی‌القرون التالیة.
و هذه المقالة تهدف إلی تقییم شخصیة المؤلف و دراسة الکتاب عبر مراجعة التقاریر التی لم یسبقه مصدر فی نقله متخذةً منهجا تحلیلا نقدیا
