One of the prominent aspects of the Umayyad period was their policy of hostility towards Imam Ali (AS), which continued throughout the reign of this dynasty, with the exception of the two years of the reign of Omar bin Abdul Aziz. This policy was also applied during the short-lived rule of the Zubayrians, and one of its prominent examples was the slander of that Imam on the pulpit. The research question is: What was the character of Imam Sajjad (AS) in confronting the Umayyad and Zubayrian hostility towards Imam Ali (AS), especially its prominent example, namely, publicly slandering the Commander of the Faithful (AS)? This research arrived at these data using a descriptive-analytical method, which shows that his practical character in this case is divided into two categories: positive and negative. The positive actions of the Imam (AS) included matters such as using the Holy Quran to inform the ignorant slanderers, promoting the virtues of the Commander of the Faithful (AS) in return for slandering him, and his negative actions included matters such as exposing the slanderers on the pulpit and openly rebuking the scholar who openly slandered him. The sum of these actions It influenced the enlightenment of society and the avoidance of certain individuals from speaking ill of the Commander of the Faithful (AS), and later on the abolition of the insults against Imam Ali (AS).
