The propagation of narratives concerning the racial superiority of the Arabs by the traditionists affiliated to the caliphate caused the reaction of the neo-Muslims, especially the followers of the Sho’ubieh movement, and they aimed to authenticate and restore the national culture in accordance with the essence of true Islam, and negated Umayyad Pan-Arabism by foregrounding and sometimes constructing the narratives. <br />Relying on the descriptive-analytical method, this research is to investigate the why and how of the reaction of Sho’ubieh movement towards the Umayyad approach. The findings of the research indicate that, due to the suffocating dominance of the political system in Umayyad era, Sho’ubieh started foregrounding and sometimes constructing the narratives in an egalitarian challenge to negate Arab supremacy and to gain an independent national identity, and then, the territory of this cultural survey was expanded to other domains of literature, history, commentary, mysticism and the like. با تسلط دودمان بنی_‌امیه بر نظام سیاسی اسلام، تفکر برتری عرب بر عجم رواج یافت. گسترش روایاتی با مضمون برتری نژادی عرب‌ها از سوی اخباریون وابسته به خلافت، واکنش نومسلمانان، به‌ویژه طرف‌داران جنبش شعوبیّه را در پی داشت و اهل تسویه با هدف احراز و بازسازی فرهنگ ملی، منطبق با جوهره‌ اسلام راستین، از راه برجسته‌سازی و گاه برساخت روایات، به نفی پان_‌عربیسم اموی مبادرت کردند.<br />این پژوهش با تکیه بر روش وصفی ـ تحلیلی، آهنگ آن دارد تا چرایی و چگونگی واکنش نهضت شعوبیّه به رویکرد امویان را بررسی کند. یافته_‌های پژوهش، حاکی از آن است که در دوره اموی به دلیل سیطره خفقان_‌آور نظام سیاسی، شعوبیّه نخست در چالشی تساوی‌خواهانه برای نفی برتری عرب و کسب هویت ملی مستقل، دست به برجسته‌سازی و گاه ساخت روایات زدند و سپس، قلمروی این پویش فرهنگی به عرصه_‌های دیگر در حوزه:_‌ ادبیات، تاریخ، تفسیر، عرفان و مانند آن گسترش یافت https://hiq.bou.ac.ir/article_72455_7a3aece7a9e8e576fd6a2c3948fdd798.pdf
