The basics of Safavid conduct was a mixture of mystic beliefs, Shiite discriminations, Iranshahri thoughts as well as the principles of Islamic government compatible with the inheritance of Sunnite people. This base of the legitimacy and truthfulness developed the identity of contemporary Iran in two software and hardware levels along with two national and international domains. This article investigates the foundations of conduct in Safavid period as well as the quality of structure and development of the Iranian’s political-social identity in the beginning of dealing with modernity and modernism. According to the findings of research, the national identity of the Iranian in Safavid period particularly before the death of Shah Abbas the first is specifiable on the basis of the four elements of Sufism, Shiism, Iranian thoughts and the tradition developed out of the Islamic government. This issue could redefine the identity and enmity providing boarders in the intellectual and active atmosphere in Iran. Safavid dynasty could provide a steady and reliable foundation towards the development of Iranian identity while it subsequently turned into a weak and discrete government due to the anachronism با برآمدن خاندان صفوی، بنیانی نو برای ساخت‌‌یابی هویت سیاسی- اجتماعی ایرانیان در نخستین گام‌های فرایند دولت‌سازی و ملت‌سازی فراهم آمد. مبنای رفتار صفویان آمیزه‌ای از باورهای صوفیانه، تمایزهای شیعی، اندیشه ایران‌شهری و اصول حکومت اسلامی ‌همساز با میراث اهل سنت بود. این مبنای مشروعیت و حقانیت، هویت ایران‌ معاصر را در دو سطح نرم افزار و سخت افزار و در دو عرصه درونی و بین‌المللی شکل داد.<br />  پژوهش پیش رو، با ره‌یافتی اسنادی- کتاب‌خانه‌ای بر آن است در سایه‌ واکاوی مبانی رفتار عصر صفوی، کیفیت مفصل‌بندی و ساخت‌یابی هویت سیاسی- اجتماعی ایرانیان را در آغاز برخورد با مدرنیته و مدرنیسم بررسی نماید. براساس یافته‌های این پژوهش، هویت ملی ایرانیان در دوران صفوی، به‌ویژه تا پیش از درگذشت شاه عباس‌اول، بر مبنای مؤلفه‌های چهارگانه تصوف، تشیع، ایران‌بودگی و سنت برآمده از حکومت اسلامی ‌تبیین ‌پذیر است. این امر توانست مرزهای هویتی، دگرسازانه و خصومت‌سازانه را در فضای فکری و کنشی ایران بازتعریف کند. خاندان صفوی در آغاز توانست مبنایی استوار برای ساخت‌بندی هویت ایرانی فراهم بیاورد اما در ادامه حکومت خود به‌واسطه زمان‌پریشی به سستی و گسست گرایید. https://hiq.bou.ac.ir/article_66727_e307911e290dbf1e4cf3863d394e43ca.pdf
