Considering the geographical position of this region and the existence of Gerd-Kuh fortress at a major center of highways near Damghan, the control of this province was of vital importance to Isma‘ili presence from the viewpoint of Hasan-e Sabbah and his successors. Investigating the Isma‘ili activities in Ghoomes, this paper also discusses the geo-strategic importance of this province and the role it played in the establishment, stabilization and prominence of the Isma‘ili power in Iran. قومس یکی از ایالت­های ایران بود که از  قرن سوم هجری تا حمله هلاکو بخشی از فعالیت اسماعیلیان در آن­جا متمرکز بود. با توجه به موقعیت جغرافیایی این منطقه و وجود قلعه گردکوه در دامغان، و انشعاب راه­های مختلف به آن، تسلط بر آن نزد اسماعیلیان اهمیت فراوانی داشت؛ به طوری که از دیدگاه حسن صباح و جانشینانش، این ایالت از ارزش خاصی برخوردار بود. <em>این مقاله، ضمن بررسی فعالیت­های اسماعیلیان در قومس، اهمیت این ایالت، موقعیت جغرافیایی و همچنین نقش آن در تأسیس و تثبیت و قدرت­مندی اسماعیلیان را مدنظر قرار می­دهد.</em> https://hiq.bou.ac.ir/article_5525_377752ca53eef278bf5c7083e655871e.pdf
